A good hunting partner can be tough to find, but if you are lucky enough to have a well trained dog you have your partner. There is no other hunting partner that will jump in ice cold water and retrieve ducks and geese, or flush out pheasants. Simply put a good hunting dog is worth their weight in gold. The fact that dogs are very tough animals often masks the fact that they need to be taken care of when hunting.
